What a hectic week in the higher education space. The funding pause from this administration threw a bomb into things, leaving huge questions of financial viability. Through various & conflicting statements it seems that they did not want it to affect "individual aid" (Pell grants, direct subsidized loans), however that leaves so many funding sources on the chopping block that universities rely on. Examples are federal work study (FWS), research dollars, TRIO support programs, and more.

Thankfully the order had an injunction filed against it by a judge, then was rescinded. The chaos from this executive order demonstrates the continued apathy for the law from this administration. It's been 10 days.

Choosing a career in education, I already knew I would not be living lucratively. More and more I wonder if there will be a job for me when I graduate.

Please know it is not my intention to make this site all about my political ramblings (although you should have known what you're getting into). When it's at the door, it's difficult not to talk about.
