I had some early morning coffee with a good friend who reminded me that the first semester of grad school is all about surviving and that it gets easier afterwards. Definitely needed to hear it as I've been actively getting my ass kicked by this workload. The classroom discussions are the best part, I surely wish I had such class formats in undergrad.

My university brought someone from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) for a workshop on free speech this past week which I greatly appreciated and enjoyed.

I finally got a new side table for my bedroom and set up my radio alarm clock. Now I wake up every morning to my local NPR station again.
